An academic with extensive teaching experience in conventional/distance/virtual teaching/learning environments in different Arab universities with insights into the challenges pertaining to tertiary education in the Arab World and with deep understanding of how quality education can be best maintained.
Assumed several leadership positions; Chairperson of the Linguistics Department at Prince Sultan University (KSA); Program Director of the English Language Department at the Syrian Virtual University; the Chairperson of the Translation Department and the Dean of the Higher Institute of Translation and Interpretation at Damascus University.
A Tempus Higher Education Reform Expert, a former UNDP National Project Director and an expert on quality assurance in higher education, program accreditation and peer reviewing. The author of several university textbooks and a researcher mainly in the area of quality education and integrating technology and pedagogy. Participated in international collaborations that led to launching several graduate programs in Arab universities.
